About the Artist:

Jeff Foster has been producing art and photography for over 30 years. Traditionally trained as an airbrush artist and photo retoucher, Foster hung up his airbrush and paints diving into the "digital age" and never looking back. He continued his journey as a professional artist and later began producing and training for traditional and digital images, video production, photography, illustration, motion graphics and special effects for DV and Film. Some of his clients include: Tribune Broadcasting, Motorola, McDonnell Douglas, Nestlé, FOX Television, Spike TV, Discovery/TLC, Deluxe Digital, Universal Studios and Disney. He is also a 2010 Telly Awards recipient for his "Documercial" video productions.

Jeff has authored and contributed to several Adobe After Effects & Photoshop tutorial and training how-to books, including the Photoshop Web Magic series and Special Edition: Using Photoshop series. His best-selling book, After Effects and Photoshop – Animation and Production Effects for DV and Film, provides tips and tricks for creating believable animations and reveals special effects secrets the professionals have been using for years. His latest book, The Green Screen Handbook, published by Wiley/Sybex delves into the history and "how-to" techniques of lighting, shooting and compositing green and blue screen production. He's been an Adobe Certified Expert and has served as an instructor and featured speaker at conferences such as Photoshop World, Macworld, Adobe MAX and the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Post-Production Conferences.

Jeff's fascination for 3-D photography (stereographic imaging) and his love for nature and the mystical, spiritual "other" worlds inspired him to combine art and photography which he calls, Nature's Spirits.
"When I take a moment to explore the details of a flower, or climb a tree with my eyes, or mentally dip my feet into a tiny stream of water I visualize a diminutive world unto itself and my imagination carries
me into the depth of those places,"
commented Foster on his pieces. Each work is intended to evoke emotional peace and harmony with nature to help calm and restore the senses. Jeff works out of his home studio in California's magnificent Ojai valley.
